Mac OS X 10.8

Since its July 25th launch day, many Macbook Pro and Macbook users have been reporting poor battery life after installing Apple’s new OS X Mountain Lion 10.8. Several Mac users are claiming they’ve experienced battery life for two hours, while others report poor performance even as the machine is sitting idle or sleeping.

The cause hasn’t been determined yet, but many users have started threads on Apple’s support forums; one titled “Battery life dropped considerably on Mountain Lion” stands at 31 pages at press time. The problem with Mountain Lion seems to be a repeat of when Apple released OS X 10.7 Lion last year.

The number of affected MacBook Pro and Air owners has allegedly grown to such proportions that Apple community members to be reported to have received emails from Apple suggesting an investigation has been initiated to find a quick solution this situation.
