As the iPhone Dev Wiki team is busy figuring out what they can all do to hack the living stuff out of the iPhone, some developers are making hacking a little more accessible to the “not-so-keen-on-terminal” group. One of those developers has updated iFuntastic to version 2. iFuntastic was originally released as a GUI solution to hacking the iPhone, but it has a few kinks in it, one of the biggest ones: the package wouldn’t open. You had to rename it to “iFuntastic.”
Here’s a list of modified/new features:
iFuntastic will now work when renamed. Previously, the package *had* to be named ‘iFuntastic’.
Carrier logos don’t have a special PNG format, after all; regular PNGs will do! That means you can very easily create your own.
Renamed ‘Display Order’ to ‘Home Screen’ and removed restrictions on icon movement. It turns out that icons can be freely moved about! Made the hidden ‘DemoApp’ and ‘FieldTest’ apps visible and introduced a ‘pasteboard’ where you can move applications from the Home Screen to hide them.
Added ‘.m4p’ as a recognized song file format.
Added a news feature to the Welcome screen, displaying this info.
Added more sample logos and ringtones.
iPhone Alley gives you two choice’s to download it from, either their own site or Rapidshare. You can download iFuntastic v2 for free, links on iPhone Alley.
