In an update to their Office Web Apps a few weeks ago, Microsoft added some new features and improved performance. Now, the company has announced the Office Web Apps support touch functionality within Safari for iOS devices. In addition to other improvements and features, this will certainly make it easier to navigate and edit documents while on the go.
Microsoft’s direct response to customers’ feedback was to bring a new interface that will “… focus on scenarios and experiences on a touch screen device,” allowing users to zoom in and out of documents with two fingers-pinch swipe while easily tapping to place an insertion point between words to begin typing, and selecting multiple words to easily edit documents. Microsoft also said that many of the click menus found within the Office Web Apps are more easily to manage on your mobile devices.
