Bastion on the iPad

Bastion—an action role-playing game in which players must create and fight for civilization’s last refuge—has been revamped for the iPad and is available now in the App Store.

The biggest change comes to the controls, which are designed to be easy to learn; one tap sends your character to that location, and a double tap performs an evasive roll. You’ll fire at enemies automatically when they get in range, which frees you to focus on special and secret skills. If you want more control, you can use a virtual gamepad which has a joystick and buttons for all of your abilities.

Bastion for iPad supports the new iPad’s Retina display and Game Center with more than 20 achievements to earn. It has the same narration, music, artwork, and gameplay that the PC and Xbox versions have.

If you want to know more about Bastion, Supergiant Games has an in-depth Bastion FAQ. You can experience Bastion on your Mac or PC by downloading the demo from Steam. There’s also a Bastion for iPad FAQ that further explains the differences between the iPad and PC/Xbox versions.

Bastion is available only for iPad 2 and the new iPad running iOS 5.1 or higher.
