Trine 2: Goblin Menace

Frozenbyte’s side-scrolling action game Trine 2 is one of the best games I’ve played on the Mac this year. That’s why I’m thrilled to relay the news that its expansion—Goblin Menace—will be hitting Steam (PC/Mac) on September 6th. Trine 2: Goblin Menace features an all-new campaign spanning six unique levels, and it introduces new skills that will also be playable in the original game.

Trine 2 players should grab the major patch now to make sure the game and the new expansion work together in multiplayer. The update brings many long-requested features to all Trine 2 players, including an arrow indicator of other players’ location in multiplayer, lots of minor gameplay changes and additions, and technical fixes.

Current Trine 2: Collector’s Edition owners on Steam are being rewarded with access to a beta version of Goblin Menace that features the first two levels. Once the Goblin Menace expansion is available for purchase on September 6th, the beta will end.

Trine 2: Goblin Menace will cost $7.99 (6.99 EUR) with a small launch discount for early buyers on Steam. Soon after the Steam release, the expansion will be made available on the Mac App Store, then moved over to Linux, as well.
