Demons’ Score is a touch-based rhythm game I’ve been following closely since trying it out at E3 2012. The iOS version is due for release soon, and Square-Enix has released a video of the opening cinematic and tutorial level, along with new screen captures to hold us over.
From the press release:
Demons’ Score is a breakbeat action game that seamlessly fuses music and battles. The Unreal Engine 3 is used to deliver thrilling touch-based gameplay through a mind-blowing fusion of stunning graphics and music.
It being a music game, Square-Enix has lined up an impressive list of composers—including Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts series), Keiichi Okabe (Nier®/Tekken series), Zuntata (Groove Coaster), Naoshi Mizuta (Final Fantasy® XI), Ryo Yamazaki (Final Fnatasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers), and Kohei Tanaka (Sakura Wars series)—with more to be announced.
The video below sets up the story and introduces the gameplay mechanics, as well as our main character’s father issues and some guy who’s a little too okay with being turned into a floating teddy bear.
Demons’ Score will be available soon for iOS, with an Android version to come this fall (NVIDIA Tegra 3 processors only).
