iLife ’08 users can get iMovie ’06 for free

Apple has been receiving some complaints regarding the new and improved iMovie ’08. The new version of iMovie comes from what was described as a complete re-write from iMovie HD 6, but it seems that some of the key features from iMovie HD 6 have been left out of the new and improved version. iMovie ’08 has left off support for plugins, themes, multiple audio tracks and timeline view.

Due to the recent complaints Apple has made iMovie HD 6 version 6.04 available as a free download for iLife ’08 owners. If you have already installed iLife ’08 and want to go back you can get the download for free from Apple. Keep in mind that just because you installed iLife ’08 does not mean that iMovie HD 6 has been removed from your Mac, it just moves it to another location so a quick search will most likely locate it for you. Either way its always nice to see a company step up to complaints and take care of the customer, hopefully we can see these missing features added to iMovie ’08 in future updates.
