AT&T also announces record sales for the iPhone 5

Apple announced today that they saw record sales of their iPhone 5 pre-orders. AT&T has also issued a statement declaring that the iPhone 5 is the fastest-selling iPhone the company has ever seen. While AT&T hasn’t released any sale figures, the company has said that it even beats last year’s iPhone 4S weekend sales.

“iPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPhone 5 is the best iPhone yet, the most beautiful product we’ve ever made, and we hope customers love it as much as we do.”

Those who got their pre-orders in last Friday should expect it to be delivered on September 21st. The iPhone 5 will be available through several U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon wireless, and will also be sold at retail stores as well as  through Apple Authorized resellers.
