Passbook App

Apple’s iOS 6 has been out for just over a month, yet there’s been a slow rate of adoption from retailers trying to integrate Passbook into their product offerings. Apple’s Passbook app, for those unfamiliar, allows iOS owners to use their iPhone or iPod touch like a mobile wallet (storing coupons, gift cards and boarding passes).

We are beginning to see more companies roll out support for Passbook, including major airlines such American and United, as well as companies such as Starbucks. Now, Coupons.com is integrating a large list of chain retailers with Passbook, including companies such as Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, Petco, PetSmart and Macy’s.

If you’re wondering how to take advantage of these offers on Passbook…

  • Simply tap on your safari browser, head to the Coupons.com website and search for any one of the favorite retailers listed within the website. (Reminder: this only works on a smaller device like your iPhone or iPod Touch; the iPad doesn’t support Passbook at this time).
  • After you found that specific coupon, you were looking for, simply tap on the Add button and it will automatically saves it on Passbook.

That’s all there is to it.
