Back in September, Apple’s gave a preview of the redesigned iTunes 11 at their iPhone 5 media event. An October release was estimated at that point, but it seems we now won’t be getting on our hands on the new version iTunes until the end of November, according to a statement from Apple.
Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr told CNET that, “The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right. We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November.”
One has to wonder whether the delay has anything to do with the dismissal of Scott Forstall, considering Apple push to integrate the UI and functionality of apps across iOS and OS X. It’ll be interesting to see what, if anything, differs from what we were shown of iTunes 11 at the iPhone 5 media event.
