Apple has released their sales numbers for the iPad mini and 4th generation iPad, revealing that they sold around a 3 million units over this weekend. Apple combined sales of the two devices into one press release without discussing individual model details. But between the two, Apple doubled the sales for the 3rd gen iPad, which sold around 1.5 million units upon its launch in March of this year.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement that, “Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad. We set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out of iPad minis. We’re working hard to build more quickly to meet the incredible demand.”
Apple also stated the new iPad mini and 4th gen iPad will soon arrive at more countries around the world, so we expect for the sales figures to reach even higher later this month.
