For this holiday shopping season, AT&T has announced publicly that they will begin offering new or existing customers $100 discounts for any tablet with LTE capability starting today. Any iPad LTE model qualifies for the $100 subsidy, including the new iPad mini.
While AT&T’s offer might sound tempting for tablet buyers, you will have to sign on a two-year contract in order to qualify for the discount. The data plans of AT&T are 250MB of data at $15 a month, 3GB for $30, and 5GB for $50 per month. Customers can also include the iPad LTE model in their new AT&T Mobile Share data plan for an additional charge of $10 a month, allowing you to share your mobile internet connection with other devices.
This is the first time AT&T has offered a subsidy plan for the Apple’s iPad. It will be interesting to see whether holiday shoppers will see AT&T’s bundle plan for the iPad/iPad Minis as an attractive enough offer to buy.
