I’m pretty sure my 7-year old daughter will be very glad when I tell her later there is now an iPad-optimized YouTube app. I mean, she’s not too fond of watching her favorite YouTube videos via the Safari browser or even the previously released iPhone and iPod Touch app. So, if you’re like myself, my daughter, and the millions of iPad users who got annoyed when YouTube was pulled off as a native iOS app, today is a good day; the YouTube app now supports the iPad and optimized for the iPhone 5 as well.
Aside from support for the iPad and iPhone 5, the updated YouTube iOS app also brings in AirPlay support which, according to YouTube, makes videos start faster and play more smoothly, and adds improved accessibility with VoiceOver.
In other words, you may now delete the YouTube webapp icon from your iPad’s homescreen and grab the updated YouTube app.
