Here’s a really cool new keyboard from Impecca…at least it’s cool-looking and reflects a commendable green concept. I haven’t got my hands on one yet, so don’t consider this article a review.
The Bluetooth Bamboo Keyboard for tablets, iPhones, and other Bluetooth devices is the newest addition to Impecca’s line of elegant, environmentally-sustainable bamboo computer accessories—claimed to be the first such bamboo computer product available in the market. The Impecca Bluetooth Bamboo Keyboard is created for the eco-conscious consumer, but it’s also functional and attractive, inlaid with bamboo, and great for use in professional offices, homes, school, or by anyone who appreciates a natural-looking work environment.
Impecca’s Bamboo Keyboard is also claimed to be very comfortable to use. A fixed bamboo panel on the bottom rear of the keyboard automatically positions the ‘board at a raked angle many consider the ideal orientation for ergonomic comfort while typing. Actually, experts say flat, or even reverse rake (nearside elevated) are ergonomically superior, but many folks think that looks “wrong” and like the back of the ‘board elevated, so whatever floats your boat.
The Impecca bamboo keyboard conforms to standard QWERTY key mapping with an assortment of special hot keys, and is compatible with iPads, Android tablets, netbooks and other Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices.
The Impecca Bluetooth Bamboo Keyboard Features:
- Lightweight wood-themed keyboard
- Available in natural bamboo color
- Green product—environmentally friendly
- Wireless through long-range Bluetooth up to 33 feet (10 meter)
- Bamboo covered with solid metal construction
- Compatible with all platforms, including Android, Surface, Kindle, Nexus, iPad, Android tablets, smartphones and other Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices
- Designed for ergonomic comfort
“Impecca believes it’s important to incorporate environmentally sustainable elements in our products,” said Impecca’s president John Bock. “We believe consumers also like buying environmentally friendly products, especially when they are unique and aesthetically appealing.” In my estimation he’s correct on both counts.
The Bluetooth Bamboo Keyboard will be exhibited for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held January 8-11, 2013 in Las Vegas, Impecca Booth #30935, South Hall.
The keyboard is compatible with iPad, iPhones, Android, Android tablets, Microsoft Surface, Kindle, Nexus, and other Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices.
The Impecca Natural Green Bamboo Bluetooth Keyboard is priced at $99.00 MSRP, and will be available February 2013 at www.impeccausa.com and major retailers.
