This week on the Free Apps Roundup: It’s one of those weeks when nearly all of the good freebies are limited time freebies. That’s arguably better than apps that are always free, though. Take for instance Angry Birds Rio. This week you can get it and the HD version for free since it’s the App Store free app of the week. Pretty nifty, right? Everyone loves Angry Birds. Or maybe you want to play Temple Run 2 because you just didn’t get enough in the original. Or maybe you really just want me to stop writing so you can get to the list…

The Top Three:

  • Clear Sight – This is a game about reflection and wisdom. You stand on Mount Wrong and must learn to see your enemies clearly before fighting them. When you see clearly, you gain Clear Sight. Learn when to move, stand your ground or fight.
  • Temple Run 2 – The sequel to the original Temple Run is here and ready to challenge you with more of the exhilarating running, jumping, turning and sliding you loved previously. How far can you run?
  • Angry Birds Rio – The App Store free app of the week is Angry Birds Rio (also HD; see below). At this point, everyone on the planet has already played an Angry Birds game, but why not play another? In this one, the original flock is kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio de Janeiro. This game is so good, they made a movie about it, or something like that. It’s 180 more levels of Angry Birds fun, so get to it.

Free for a limited time:

  • Dreamdays – Count down to the days that matter with this stylish countdown app.
  • SnoreLab – Ever wanted to know how badly you snore at night? This app can help. It records when and how loudly you snored and even calculates a Snore Score. No word on achievements for high Snore Scores. Who can set the record?
  • Car Jack Streets: Directors Cut – If you like classic GTA, you’re going to love this game. It’s a top down perspective of a small time player in a big city. Stay alive, pay your debts to the Mob and rise to the top of the criminal underworld.
  • Documents by Readdle – This app lets you read, listen, view, download and annotate almost anything you want on your iPad. Basically, it’s a do it all file managing app.
  • Thunder Tank 2 – Simple operation, fierce fighting. Pilot a tank and shoot stuff!
  • Cubed Rally Redline – Just how far can you make it down the track in this endless racer? It’s full on retro racing fun.
  • Sunshine – Become the sunshine to save the multiverse. Reality is in danger. The black holes have taken the light and now you are needed to take control of a simple photon. Shine!
  • Running Dead – It’s hard to believe you aren’t zombied out yet, but just in case you’re still craving more undead, this app has you killing zombies and struggling to stay alive as the sole survivor in a town overrun by zombies.
  • Angry Birds Rio HD – It’s the same great Angry Birds game as above, except it’s bigger for your iPad.
