Wargame: European Escalation

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from playing the board game Risk, it’s that you should never attempt to fight a two front war in Europe. But that’s just what Focus Home Interactive is doing now that they’ve made Wargame: European Escalation available for both PC and Macintosh.

Developed by Eugen Systems, Wargame European: Escalation is a real-time strategy game set in the Cold War period of 1975-1985. It explores battles we may have seen if history had taken a wrong turn.

On both sides of the Iron Curtain that tears Germany in two, the two military alliances, NATO and the Warsaw Pact, are on the verge of war. The zeal of a patrol close to the East-german border eventually leads to a firefight with their enemy brothers. Soon the local skirmish pushes the already-tense relationship between NATO and the Warsaw Pact over the edge into all-out war.

Both superpowers have enough nuclear fire at their disposal to annihilate all life on the planet, but of course this is the very last resort; if an open conflict was to happen, it would take the form of conventional warfare in Germany, and throughout Europe.

The world is about to fall into the feared 3rd World War. Wargame: European Escalation plunges you into the midst of this conflict, through a big and explosive military campaign!

Getting an OS X version is good news for Mac gamers who can now join hundreds of thousands of players battling it out in Wargame European Escalation, but it’s even better news for PC gamers. If they also have a Mac around, they can download and play the OS X version of Wargame: European Escalation for free.

Wargame: European Escalation is available now for $34.99 (normally $39.99). For more information or to download your copy, visit www.wargame-ee.com.
