It’s been quite some time since Apple made the switch from the 30-pin dock port to the new Lightning port, and third-party manufacturers are just now starting to roll out their Lightning accessories (through no fault of their own). One of the first is Scosche Industries, who have made available four Lighting chargers and the first official retractable lightning cable: strikeBASE (available in both 5W and 12W models), strikeDRIVE (available in both 5W and 12W models) and strikeLINE PRO.
strikeBase 5W and 12W Lightning charger
The new strikeBASE wall charger features a 3 foot long cable and flush folding wall prongs for added portability. A low-profile design ensures that the charger leaves other outlets open for use. The 5W model costs just $29.99 and will charge the iPhone 5, iPod touch (5th gen) and iPod nano (7th gen) at their full potential. The similarly designed, $34.99 strikeBASE 12W is the first 12W wall charger on the market following the Apple OEM version and packs enough juice to charge the 4th generation iPad and iPad mini but that extra power will not harm the lower wattage iOS devices.
strikeDRIVE 5W and 12W Lightning charger
Scosche’s $29.99 strikeDRIVE 12W is the industry’s first 12W car charger for Lightning devices and features a 3 foot coiled cable that provides the freedom to use a device as it charges without tangles and clutter. A low profile design ensures strikeDRIVE fits neatly in most vehicles, making efficient use of the space around the dash and allowing for a clean installation. The 5W model strikeDRIVE 5W costs just $24.99 and will charge the iPhone 5, iPod touch (5th gen) and iPod nano (7th gen) at their full potential.
strikeLINE PRO cable
The retractable strikeLINE PRO cable extends up to 3 feet and is perfect solution for on-the-go lifestyles. Priced at $24.99 strikeLINE is the ideal choice for users that already own a USB wall or car charger and need a second Lightning cable for work or travel.
The Scosche Lightning charges and cables are immediately available at www.Scosche.com and can soon be purchased at AT&T, Wal-Mart, Staples, Fry’s and various Apple premium retailers.
