Duke Nukem—the video game soldier who wasn’t happy if he wasn’t ripping off Army of Darkness or Terminator 2—is returning to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This time, it’s a port of the classic Duke Nukem II in honor of the game’s 20th anniversary. Retro gamers will get “32 action-packed levels” in “256 eye-popping colors,” and we wouldn’t want Duke in any other way.
Seriously. We really don’t want Duke in any other way.
Interceptor Entertainment is handling the development in conjunction with 3D Realms. If Interceptor sounds familiar, it’s because they also handled the Rise of the Triad reboot. Can we get these guys on Dark Forces next?
Key Features of Duke Nukem II for iOS include:
- Smooth side-scrolling action
- Insane VGA graphics
- 256 eye-popping colors
- Kick-ass weapons
- Amazing interactive environments
- 32 action-packed levels
- Full touch screen support
- Brutal new artwork and music
- Save/load, replay and track your score with leaderboards
And it’ll all look like this:
Duke Nukem II is set for release in April in the iTunes App Store for $1.99. For more information until then, visit interceptor-entertainment.com.
