Mini NinjasNinjas. To some, they’re silent, deadly assassins. To others, they’re adorable kids on wacky adventures. If you’re the latter, you’ll be pleased to hear Square Enix’s Mini Ninjas have arrived on the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and those Android things as a unique entry in the immensely-popular runner genre.

Mini Ninjas for iOS stays faithful to the original story of the console adventure, but places your favorite characters in a new story exclusive to mobile and tablet devices.

… you play as Hiro and friends, as they run, jump and slash their way through the immersive ancient lands bursting with colour and intrigue. Your ultimate aim is to retrieve the stolen artefact from the dragon, and rescue your fellow Ninjas on the way. Each character has unique powers that will help defeat the Evil Samurai Warlord’s magical army, whose forbidden magic has turned all animals into minions.

Players collect Kuji Energy to upgrade and unlock new powers for your Mini Ninja. There is an extensive range of customisation features, achievements and unlockable content available to users in the Dojo, your game hub. Bringing something new to the endless runner genre, you’ll now have the ability to craft items using your collectibles, creating new power-ups and equipment. Also available is a fantastic array of customisable outfits and potions, to earn and purchase, which will help Hiro during his battles.

A TV show is in the works, too, but for the sake of relevancy I’d rather show you the trailer for the game.

Mini Ninjas is available now for £0.69/€0,79/$0.99, with upgrades, characters and such available via in-app purchase. For more information, visit the Mini Ninjas website.
