There are video games that try to capture the rules and the feel of old-school pencil and paper RPGs, but Paradox Interactive is taking it one step further with a game that lets you control players who are playing an old-school RPG with Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition.
In a bit of metatextuality not seen since It Came From the Late, Late Show, you (the human) will assemble a group of computer players who will, in turn, create characters to go on an epic fantasy adventure. Players will also control the dungeon master, determining how many monsters your team will fight.
Choose from multiple classes, such as knights and mages, then choose from the many different characters to control those classes, like grandma or kid brother, and take on the loads of quests, monsters, items and equipment littered throughoutKnights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition. Blacksmiths, enchanters, mining, gathering, hidden treasures and a whole lot more await, giving players a lot of room to personalize their gameplay experience. Don’t wait any longer, the Pen & Paper world needs you!
Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition will be available in “Q2 2013,” and will be released for Mac, iOS, Windows, Linux, and Android tablets. You can learn more about the game at the Paradox website.
