Gmail update adds swiping gestures to iOS app

Google has updated their Gmail iOS application, bumping it to version 2.1. The Gmail update adds a few new features as well with a whole set of performance improvements and bug fixes. The newly improved app adds the ability for users switch between email messages by swiping either to left or right, allowing you to read and take action on multiple messages at once.

Google also added Edit Mode to the app, which gives iPhone users more tools to quickly organize emails into folders, delete old messages and add labels directly from the inbox.

The Gmail update, is now available for download in the App Store, and is compatible with all iOS devices running on iOS 5 and later.
