free apps roundupThis week on the Free Apps Roundup: Do you like comic books? If you do, there’s a decent chance that you like DC comics and that you’ll be happy to see the new Injustice: Gods Among Us free-to-play card game. It has all of your favorite DC heroes and villains battling each other. If you’re a SEGA fan you’d better go download Sonic Dash. How often do you get a Sonic game for free? And if you like fun, you’ll want to check out Egypt Zuma. It’s a match 3 style game that’s perfect for casual gamers.

The Top Three Free Apps:

  • Injustice: Gods Among Us – Attention DC comics fans, it’s your lucky day. Build an epic roster of DC heroes and villains and battle in this collect and play, free-to-play card game. It has stunning graphics with custom animations for every hero and villain. But it’s more than just collecting real world cards and scanning them into the game; you actually get to fight by using the touch screen mechanics of the iPhone or iPad to battle in three on three combat.
  • Sonic Dash – A Sonic game, for free? I know, it’s really exciting. How far can you dash, jump, and spin? It’s an endless runner game, SEGA style.
  • Egypt Zuma – Treasures of Anubis – I’m a huge fan of Zuma. It’s a game with simple controls that has you doing a simple task, firing colored orbs to match 3 or more. This version of the game has an Egyptian theme and all the fun of the original. But don’t wait too long, it’s only free for a limited time.

Free Apps:

  • Overkill 2 – If you like guns, then you’ll like this game that features over 30 realistic 3D guns waiting to be used in battles. You’ll be able to customize those weapons too.
  • Tekken Card Tournament – This is the first free-to-play Tekken game ever. Take Tekken everywhere you go with turn-ased card battling. There’s deep gameplay, amazing visuals, unlimited action and over 190 cards to collect in the real world.
  • Knight Storm – Ride to victory in an age of bravery and honor as you win jousts, defeat monsters, complete epic quests and become a legend.
  • Run Sheldon! – You play as Sheldon, a tortoise who needs to run from the Hare Gang. They aren’t happy about this race that Sheldon won against one of their own. You’ll run, fly, bounce, and swim to freedom while taking advantage of amazing power-ups and items. Plus it’s super easy to play. In fact, there’s just one button.

Free Apps for a Limited Time:

  • Reeder for iPad – You may have heard that Google is discontinuing their Reader service. This app depends on that service, for now anyway. While it’s being revamped for a different service you can download it for free. It’s a great app that normally costs $5.
  • Creatorverse – Become an inventor as you design unique creations and then set them in motion with this physics simulator app.
  • Moni – Keep track of your checkbook virtually with this cash management app. It’s a sleek app that let’s you track your expenses manually and see where your money is going.
  • Guitar Suite HD – This app has six great utility modes: chords, scales, tuner, tune by ear, a metronome, and even a play mode. Try it out, it might help out your playing.
  • Wraithborne – Magic returned to the world and it changed everything. Now wraiths, goblins, and werewolves stalk the lands. Be Wraithborne in this intense action/adventure game with lite RPG elements.
  • Sentinel 3: Homeworld – It’s the latest in a line of a sci-fi tower defense games. Take the fight to the alien home world and unleash a massive arsenal of weaponry. There are 15 new levels, 20 unlockable tureens, orbital ship weapons, automated drones and abilities and more.
  • Ski Jumping Pro – Hurtle yourself down a snow-packed ski ramp and throw yourself through the air from the safety of an iDevice. This game has great 3D graphics, real ski-jumping courses and more.
  • Mini Ninjas – Need another endless runner? Join Hiro and his mini ninjas friends as they run, jump, and slash their way through amazing spellbound lands to retrieve the stolen artifact from the dragon.
  • Skylanders Cloud Patrol – Celebrate the one year anniversary of this app by patrolling the Skylands for escaped trolls.
  • PITFALL – It’s been 30 years, now play Pitfall in 3D. Escape the wrath of an angry volcano while collecting ancient treasures.
