Fruit Ninja

This week on the Free Apps Roundup: If you don’t already have and love Fruit Ninja, your iDevice has been missing out. But it doesn’t have to be that way any longer. Fruit Ninja and Fruit Ninja HD are free for a limited time! If you’re a fan of golf, you’ll have to check out GolfStar. It’s a game with some pretty great graphics and a physics engine that factors in just about everything. And if you want to take a trip down memory lane, approximately 15 years in the past, you might just want to take care of a virtual pet again with the Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. app. All this and more, which may even include getting Angry Birds Star Wars for free from Starbucks.

The Top Three Free Apps:

  • Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. – Remember Tamagotchis? They were awesome virtual pets you could take with you anywhere and care for any time you wanted. Well, they still are all that, plus color! Now you can literally bring all the fun back to virtual life on your iOS device.
  • GolfStar – They say it’s the greatest golf game you’ll ever play. This game features superb graphics with retina support and physics-based gameplay. There are about 70 factors that contribute to how your ball reacts to the environment, things like impact angle, wind, temperature, even humidity. Yes, the game is virtual, but the frustration might just be real. JK. If you love golf games you owe it to yourself to check this one out.
  • Fruit Ninja – That’s right, one of the best games for iOS is now free. It’s hard to believe you don’t already own this game, but if that’s really the case, you can change that right now by downloading it for free for a limited time. This game turns your fingers into blades as you cut fruit in half, why not, and avoid cutting bombs. The life of a Fruit Ninja is both perplexing and entertaining.

Free Apps:

  • LookAway Player – So you like watching videos on YouTube, but you also have a mild case of ADHD? This app actually tracks your eye movement via your iOS device’s FaceTime camera and checks to make sure you’re watching. If you aren’t, it pauses. It’ll even mute the audio if you shush it with a finger crossing your lips.
  • Dungeon Hunter 4 – The demons have returned and you’ve awaked as your people’s only hope in this action RPG from Gameloft.
  • Starbucks – Okay, the Starbucks app isn’t new, but the latest update brings a pretty nifty feature. If you remember getting a free app download code from a physical Starbucks location in the past, you’re going to love that they built it into this app in the Messages feature on the Home tab. You don’t even need to be at a Starbucks to take advantage of it. And they might just be giving away Angry Birds Star Wars with it…

Free Apps for a Limited Time:

  • Cardiograph – Here’s a utility that makes use of the LED flash and camera on your iPhone to measure your heart rate. Plus it looks cool too.
  • Solar – It’s a super minimalistic weather app that helps you know what the weather is going to be like via a color gradient.
  • Bumper Basher – Play various games with bumper cars in this 2-4 player game on your iPad.
  • Sakura Quick Math – I’m a huge fan of apps that teach Math to kids in fun ways. This app does just that.
  • Bubble Blitz – Here’s a game that appears to be just like Bubble Bobble. Shoot bubbles to match 3 of the same color.
  • Bubble Blitz HD – The same for iPad.
  • The Blocks Cometh – Help Blockman and his friends to survive as long as you can by running, jumping, shooting, and climbing to the top in this endless vertical climber with retro graphics.
  • Fruit Ninja HD – This is the same great fruit cutting game embiggened for your iPad. But there are more features, like split screen two player.
