The company whose tagline is “The original maker of bombproof gear for living and riding the city” has introduced two new bags for the urban commuter. Whether you’re biking, walking, or taking the train, Chrome Industries‘ new Postbag or Rucksack can get your gear there safely. Hopefully your commute doesn’t require bombproof protection, but if you are less than delicate with your Macbook, iPad, and other gear, Chrome has got you covered.

Welded Postbag

The Welded Postbag ($80) features a cross-body shoulder strap, carry handles for briefcase-style use, and straps to allow you to secure the Postbag in a bike basket. The Postbag construction features welded seams for durability and waterproofing, while the entire outside is weatherproofed—great for those unexpected rainstorms city dwellers inevitably get caught in.

The expandable main pocket has a removable and padded laptop sleeve capable of accommodating up to a 15″ MacBook Pro, which features a built-in organizer to let you go skinny and still carry your iPhone, pens and business cards. Quick access exterior pockets let you get at your most important gear quickly and easily, so your wallet/metro card/iPod is always close at hand.

Welded Rucksack

The Welded Rucksack ($110) is a larger brother to the Postbag. Instead of a cross-body shoulder strap, the Rucksack features dual shoulder straps for backpack use, and a top-mounted handle for briefcase-style carrying. The Rucksack features the same removable laptop sleeve for your MacBook, and is built of the same weatherproofed material with welded seams to protect your gear.

Quick access pockets on the outside give you easy access to your gear without opening the bag, while mounting loops on the back let you attach gear via carabiner to haul around water bottles or other items.
