mzl.hydvudnt.480x480-75This week on the Free Apps Roundup: Are you looking for some new games to play? If you like Angry Birds, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy Bombcats. It’s a physics puzzler with explosive cats. It’s no weirder than Angry Birds. If you’re looking for something else, then you’ll be happy to see all of the limited time freebie games available this week. Also, UPS released an official iPad app and Google released Hangouts for iOS. It’s a good week.

The Top Three Free Apps:

  • Bombcats – Blow the cage, save the kitten! Words to live by…almost. This is Chillingo’s latest game. In it, there are seven cut but volatile felines that are ready to explode into action to save their fury friends. There are over 190 levels and 42 goals to keep your furiously flicking these exploding cats across your screen. Sounds a little like some displeased avians, doesn’t it?
  • UPS for iPad – Now you can finally track your UPS packages on your iPad via an official UPS app. You can manage your deliveries, nickname shipments, or just check out where it is on a map. The app also makes it easy to find UPS locations close by, reroute or reschedule delivers and more.
  • Hangouts – Now you can join the hangout with Google’s Hangouts app for iOS. With it, you can have group conversations easily. Send photos, emoji, text, or start a video call with up to 10 friends. Truth be told, they don’t even need to be your friends. The best part is that hangouts work on computers, and now your phone or tablet device too.

Free Apps:

  • WATCH ABC – With the latest update and renaming of this app, you can watch your favorite ABC shows and local programming (in some areas) live at home or on the go. You can also watch some shows on demand, including Modern Family, Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and more. Starting in July, you’ll need to verify that you pay for cable, so ABC doesn’t really want to give you anything for free.
  • Amazon Cloud Drive – Protect and store all of your photos in one place with Amazon Cloud Drive Photos. You can access your photos basically from anything that connects to the Internet. The first 5GB of space is free.
  • Blitz Brigade – It’s the ultimate FPS showdown on iOS. Become one of five highly skilled and totally badass classes and team up with other players to pound your enemies into the dirt and call them mean names. Battles can have up to 12 players.

Free Apps for a Limited Time:

  • Another Monster at the End of This Book – Join two of your favorite monsters, Elmo and Grover, in this book. There’s another monster at the, well, end of this book, but you’ll have to make your way through all of the interactive features to find this hiding monster. Have fun.
  • Lapse It Pro – There are tons of photo apps available, but this one gives you a useful feature you can’t find in most: time lapse. It’s a powerful and easy way to document long duration scenes that don’t change quickly. It supports up to 1080p video output. Now all you need is a tripod.
  • Cowboy Guns HD – A lone cowboy faces a deadly gang of gunslingers known as The Crimson Jackals. Can you fight your way through this HD bounty hunting game?
  • Oragami Master HD – Do you like folding paper into novel shapes? This app can help you fold some pretty cool things with over 1000 choices.
  • Aces of the Luftwaffe – Fight waves of Axis planes and panzers until you hit the boss enemies in this top down aerial shooter.
  • Zentomino – Combine tangrams with Tetris and you get this game. There are over 275 puzzles to complete in this realizing, yet challenging puzzle game.
  • Sporos – Light up the cells in each level with a special seed known as the spores. Drag pieces onto the board one at a time, arranging them to extend all the way down every row and column. It’s a puzzle game that mixes skill, luck and logic.
  • Rail Maze Pro HD – Solve 100+ challenging and unique puzzle that require you to build railroads, bomb obstacles, and even escape pirates on the rails.
