Discount for MacTech BootCamp II for AppleTell readers

MacTech BootCamp II-200_5If you work with or support Macs as part of your job, the MacTech BootCamp is one of the premier seminars for expanding your skills, networking with fellow Apple consultants, and learning more about the technical support and power user topics. This year’s incarnation, BootCamp II, covers a wide range of subjects, including DNS and network management, mobility and profiles, and managing storage both local and networked. New this year is a special track to support Microsoft’s fledgling Office for Mac Accredited Support Professional, which is a half day session that gives a thorough grounding on support for Microsoft Office for Mac and Office 365 on the Mac.

The AppleTell Discount

It pays to know somebody, and as loyal readers you get access to an AppleTell discount that the MacTech organizers were generous enough to arrange for us. There are four remaining events this year in Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Francisco, and Atlanta; once you’ve found a session that works with your schedule/location, be sure to use AppleTell’s custom registration link to reserve your spot. This discount gets you the early bird pricing of $299 instead of the full $499, and that price is good without limitations (normal early bird pricing is for a limited number of spots only)! That price also gets you a six-month subscription to MacTech magazine, so you can keep current even after the conference ends.

Topics

The lineup of speakers for this year’s event is impressive, as is the diversity of subject matter they’ll be covering. The keynote address is entitled “What are the Key Building Blocks for Today’s Apple Consultant?”, and promises to cover core topics of deployment, maintenance, and support for Apple consultants working in various organizations. Of particular interest to me is a session entitled “Mobility and Profiles,” which promises to cover issues that BYOD programs are causing, including questions of who owns the data and what rights they have. The Office for Mac Accreditation session is a half-day session the day before the main seminar itself.

MacTech Office

If you register for the Washington, D.C. BootCamp on June 26, be sure to give us a Twitter shootout—that’s @appletell—which you really should be following for all the latest news. I’ll be there for both the main day and the MS Office sessions, and will be posting thoughts as soon as the event wraps for those of you who can’t make it.
