Apple has unleashed their latest software update (build 12F17) for OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion to those who are part of Apple’s Dev program. Registered developers will be able to download Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5 beta software directly on Apple’s developer Page or through the software update tool in the Mac App Store.

Apple did not reveal when this latest OS X software update will ship to the public, only advising developers to test out and focus on specific software areas like Wi-Fi connectivity, graphics, wake from sleep, PDF viewing, and mobile device management.

OS X 10.8.5 appears to be an end software version of Mountain Lion as Apple continues to work on its next major update of OS X codenamed “Mavericks” (set to launch this fall).
