The rumors about the upcoming iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are gaining momentum as the expected launch date draws closer. There is now a leak that shows us the alleged retail packing of the iPhone 5S, which would confirm the device will be called iPhone 5S. A leaked image also shows that there will be a 128GB variant of the much anticipated iPhone 5S. This coincides with prediction that Apple will unveil a 128GB iPhone for tech-savvy users.
The alleged retail packing images of the iPhone 5S comes from China, showing a box that displays an iPhone 5S running iOS 7.
The iPhone 5S is expected to feature an appearance similar to the current iPhone 5, but will have hardware upgrades such as an A7 processor and a 12-13MP camera. A number of rumors also point towards fingerprint scanning technology in the home button; however, we don’t actually know how it will be used. The device is expected to be available in the traditional black and white colors, along with a new gold color option.
One of the images also tells us that the device will be compatible with various carriers, as it mentions different networks support such as Rev. A and Rev. B, EVDO, CDMA, HSPA+/DC-HSDPA operating on 850/900/1900/2100MHz as well as 4G LTE support.
Apple is expected to showcase the device in September following its release a week and a half later—expected to be September 20th. Along with the refreshed iPhone 5S, Apple will also unveil its budget iPhone (aka iPhone 5C) featuring a polycarbonate body.
