Get ready to venture back into the dark, with no weapons, no memories, and only a lantern to guide you. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs—the sequel to Frictional Games’ The Dark Descent—comes out on September 10th for Mac, PC, and Linux. The first person horror game is currently available for pre-order at a 20% discount.
Appletell editor-in-chief Kirk Hiner reviewed Amnesia: The Dark Descent and gave it 4/5, calling it “… a truly frightening game.” The sequel looks to have the same tone as the first.
From the press release:
The year is 1899. Wealthy industrialist Oswald Mandus has returned home from a disastrous expedition to Mexico, which has ended in tragedy. Wracked by fever, haunted by dreams of a dark machine, he recovers consciousness in his own bed, with no idea of how much time has passed since his last memory. As he struggles to his feet, somewhere beneath him, an engine splutters, coughs, roars into life…
The game will retail for $19.99, but can be pre-ordered now for $15.99. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs will be available for download from:
- Humble Store
- Mac App Store
