Apple’s rumored iPhone 5C and 5S announcement is only about a week away, and, as expected, more leaked images and videos of the new models are beginning to surface. On Monday, images of the previously seen iPhone 5C packaging surfaced, alongside a video that shows an iPhone 5C powered on and running iOS 7. The video was posted by Chinese blog C Technology, which shows a blue iPhone 5C running a full version of iOS 7 with no hiccups. Based on the speed of the apps opening and closing in the video, it’s safe to assume the 5C may be running either the A5 or A6 processor (likely the A6).
It is unclear based on the video whether this is a genuine iPhone 5C unit, though it is possible when considering the announcement is just around the corner. The video’s credibility is heightened just a bit by the accompanying images, which show the exact same iPhone 5C packaging that was leaked earlier this year. However, this packaging contains the actual unit inside with a package design very similar to Apple’s iPod line-up. The wallpaper on the iPhone 5C also appears to match the color of the unit itself, much like the iPod nano.
In the images, the iPhone 5C is seen in yellow, silver, and blue colors which seem to be in line with rumors from several months ago.
The iPhone 5C is likely going to be a success because of its rumored lower cost, as well as it new all-plastic design and the inclusion of the many features from the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5C is expected to replace the iPhone 5 as the lower cost unit in the iPhone line-up while the iPhone 5S will become the higher end model. Both models are expected to be announced on September 10th, and to go on sale as early as September 20th.
