The iPhone 5c has only been around for about two weeks, and already a number of retailers are beginning to drop the price of the device. Though customers still have to sign a two year contract in order to get the discounts, the price drop will definitely attract a lot of potential customers. So far, Best Buy, RadioShack, and Walmart have all dropped the prices of the iPhone 5c in their retail stores. Best Buy discounted the iPhone 5c by $50, dropping the retail price of a 16GB model $49.99 w/ a two year contract (down from $99.99). This is an excellent price for customers, especially those who were already looking to purchase the device.

RadioShack has also pulled the trigger on a discount plan that gives customers a $50 gift card they can apply to their in-store iPhone purchase. With discounts from both Best Buy and RadioShack, customers will now be able to get a whopping 32GB model for less than $200. So far, it seems Walmart is winning the discount war, with the retail giant offering the iPhone 5c for only $45 through the holiday season. There is not another retailer out there that will offer you a better deal, so if you skipped the initial launch period and are thinking about getting a 5c, now is a better time than ever.

I think that because the iPhone 5c has the same internals as the iPhone 5, and because it is the lower end model of the two iPhone lines, retailers are able to offer steep discounts without losing too much money. After-all, the iPhone 5s is still available for sale through all of these retailers, and that one starts at $199.99 for a 16GB model.
