Twitter has rolled out a minor update of its mobile app, allowing you to view Twitter photos and videos from Vine right in your Twitter timeline. Whereas you previously needed to tap on links for images via Twitter or video for Vine, the updated Twitter iOS app now lets you view them in the feed. This makes tweets more visually appealing.

Although, the new feature is limited for Twitter photos and Vine videos at this time, let’s not discount the fact that this may just be a preview of things to come. Specifically, this is one step towards making the Twitter timeline not only visually friendly for users, but for potential Twitter advertisers as well. Advertisers may now opt to use Vine videos or Twitter photos to push their visual ads. If that’s the case, some Twitter users may not be too happy with this. The good news is that this feature can be easily turned off in the app’s settings.

Along with this new feature, the updated Twitter iOS app also now lets you reply, retweet, favorite or follow someone straight from a Tweet in your home timeline. This feature was tested via a closed group for several weeks, and is now being rolled out to everyone.

The updated Twitter iOS app is available now as a free download from the iTunes App Store. Grab it now if you’re still not succumbing to the temptation of using third-party Twitter apps which are more robust, vibrant and enticing to use.
