On Wednesday, Apple released a GarageBand update for with bug fixes and stability enhancements for the Mac version of the music software. Apple launched the redesigned app during the same media event in which the company introduced OS X Mavericks and updated several iLife apps (including iPhoto and iMovie), and even made the iOS versions free with the purchase of any new iOS device.
With the newGarageBand design, Apple took a number of features from the iOS version and added an all-new sound library with improvements to the instruments. The new version allows users to choose from one of 15 virtual session drummers.
Apple is releasing updates much faster for iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks than they ever have in the past, likely doing this to curb the number of customer complaints about the performance with the major OS updates.
GarageBand v10.0.1 for Mac is a solid 749MB download, and is now available via the Mac App Store.
