Refurbished versions of Apple’s newest products are now being sold in the company’s online store, including the 11-inch and 13-inch Macbook Airs. The new Macbook Air models were introduced in June this year and Apple is already offering them at a discount. On Monday, Apple’s late 2013 27-inch iMac appeared in the refurbished store, bringing the price of several models down by more than $200.
This includes the entry level model on the 27-inch size that has a 3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with 8 GB RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, which is now available for only $1,529. That means customers are saving a whopping $270 off of the original retail price. Apple launched these iMac models in late September, meaning customers are getting the latest product with a great discount (think Black Friday deals throughout the holiday season). Apple continues to offer excellent deals on its devices, and now puts its latest devices in the refurbished section of the Online Store within months of their release.
Apple’s Refurbished products undergo a very stringent process before they are sold to the public, including the replacement of the outside shell and battery. It is then tested to make sure all parts that were once defective are functioning as they should, and it’s then shipped with the same standard 1-year warranty all of the company’s other devices ship with. Ultimately, customers are getting great savings for a device that has been restored to excellent condition.
