Quite a few classic board games have made the move from your table to the computer or iPad, but it’s not often we see things move the other way. So, leave it to CD Projekt RED to defy convention and—in cooperation with Fantasy Flight Games—release The Witcher Adventure Game, based on the popular books and (soon to be) trilogy of RPGs for consoles and Mac/PC.
Ignacy Trzewiczek’s The Witcher Adventure Game takes players on a journey across the world of The Witcher as they assume the roles of four beloved characters from the books and computer games: Geralt of Rivia, monster slayer; Dandelion, roguish bard; Triss Merigold, cunning sorceress; and Yarpen Zigrin, dwarven warrior. A variety of quests invite players to hunt monsters, earn gold on dangerous missions, and interact with the characters they meet in a web of alliances and treachery.
As you’d expect from CD Projekt Red, the board game is being developing with meticulous care, with over 350 premium components designed by some of the industry’s most acclaimed artists.
But if you’re afraid of the cat knocking said components under the oven, you could always go for the iPad/Android version, which is also in development. Either way, expect plenty of this:
