LaCie Little Big DiskLaCie’s Little Big Disk now features Thunderbolt 2 with speeds of up to 1,375 MB/s (that’s up to 10 times the speed of USB 3).

The Little Big Disk features:

  • Solid-State Drives  — To achieve the full potential of Thunderbolt 2, the Little Big Disk uses two 500 GB PCIe Gen 2 SSDs. With speeds of up to 1,375 MB/s it’s possible to transfer 300 GB of 4K footage in less than three minutes.
  • Dual Thunderbolt 2 ports — You can daisy chain up to five Little Big Disks plus a 4K display, and connect them to a computer via a single cable. You can also achieve speeds faster than the maximum Thunderbolt 2 transfer rate by connecting two Little Big Disks in parallel to get up to 2,600 MB/s.
  • Whisper-quiet dual cooling — Two heat-dissipating aluminum plates in addition to a larger, thermoregulated fan that only turns on when necessary and produces nearly zero noise.
  • Portable — Weighs only 1.4 lbs (620g) and easily fits in a laptop or backpack.

The Little Big Disk with Thunderbolt 2 and a 1 TB solid-state drive is available now at LaCie’s website for $1,299.
