The final product in my Trident review series is the Cyclops iPhone 5/5s case. I could simply describe this as a slimmer version of the Kraken A.M.S.
The Cyclops iPhone 5/5s case is composed of two parts. The first part is made of shock-absorbing Thermo Plastic Elastomer (TPE) and polycarbonate, and snugly accomodates the iPhone. The cover’s frame is also made of the same material, with a a screen protector that doesn’t really reduce the sensitivity of your iPhone’s screen. The case’s exterior part is made in such a way that you can slide it easily in and out of your pocket.
The case also comes with TPE plugs that protect your device’s power ports and audio-jacks from dust and dirt. Speaking of which, fortunately, these plugs do not get in the way when sliding your device in and out of your pocket. This is one of my gripe with the Aegis iPhone 5 case.
According to Trident, the case features a patent pending audio technology that redirects sound to the front to provide an enhanced audio experience. I listened to some music with the speaker phone, and I noticed that it did improve the audio direction.
Like the other Trident cases, the Cyclops iPhone 5/5s case includes a larnyard hook that lets you accessorize your iPhone with key chains, charms and other accesories. And the Cyclops case is also environment-friendly, as it is made of recyclable, degradable and compostable materials. The case also passed the Military Standard test for drop, vibration, dust, sand rain protection.
If you find the Kraken A.M.S. case too fancy and the Aegis iPhone 5/5s case lacking in protective features, the Cyclops iPhone 5/5s case is a pretty good option. It’s also available in various colors, so I hope you find your preferred color should you decide to get this case for your iPhone.
