Apple is not only working on the next iPhone, but also on a next version of its operating system: iOS 8. This is not surprising, as Apple releases new software alongside a refreshed iPhone model every year. And according to a new report from 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman, Apple may introduce improved multitasking capabilities with iOS 8, especially for iPad.
The report, citing people with knowledge about the development, suggests iOS 8 will give users the ability to work with multiple applications on a single screen. For those of you who don’t know, a similar feature is already available on the Microsoft Surface tablet. It’s definitely a nice feature that gives users the ability to work with multiple applications at one time, and may come in quite handy for corporate users.
The feature is designed to work with the 9.7-inch iPad, and there’s no word if it will make its way to the iPad mini as well, which comes with a considerably smaller display when compared to the larger iPad.
Let’s just take this with a grain of salt, no batter how badly we want it, and wait for Apple to make it official. We’ll update you as soon as more information becomes available.
