Apple’s WWDC conference will kick off today, and attendees have already received some gifts from the company upon registering for the event at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Tweets have been going up from attendees showing that Apple is giving away “WWDC 2014″ jackets and $25 iTunes gift cards to everyone who shows up.
Signing up at the event is fairly simple since Apple is utilizing PassBook to get people registered. Once people are in the system and have shown up, they are assigned an ID barcode badge along with the gifts.
When compared to the things that some companies give out to developer event attendees, jackets and gift cards are not very impressive. Companies like Google have been known to hand out devices during those events and you’d think Apple could do the same with its $150 billion stockpile.
Apple chose $25 for the gift card value in celebration of “25 years and coding.”
For those of you who were not able to get into WWDC 2014, make sure to pay attention to Apple’s live stream of the event which starts Monday at 1PM ET. Perhaps more importantly, hop over to AppleTell’s live blog of the keynote at the same time if you would like to hear our thoughts on the big announcements from the event.
