I wanted to give mankind fire, but battling the cyclops and minotaur and countless minions…who knew?! This is gonna hurt, so I hope it’s worth it.

Godfire: Rise of Prometheus

Godfire: Rise of Prometheus is a mobile device game which plays and looks more like a full-on console game. It’s basically all fighting, and there is some blood flying around, so it may not be the best option for the really young ones (Vyvyan on the other hand…). Your mission is to recover the Spark and give the gift of Godfire to mankind. It won’t be easy; you have plenty of baddies to battle, and they are playing for keeps.

Godfire: Rise of Prometheus

As you make your way through each level, don’t forget to poke about for some coins or chests with some health points, etc. At the end of each level there is the obligatory boss to battle so keep your thumbs limber.

Godfire features the expected touchscreen controls; at the bottom corners are buttons for movement, shield, attack, and heavy attack. If you’ve been looking for an excuse to pick up an MFi third-party controller, this would be it. No matter which control system you use, certain button combinations will yield different attacks.

The graphics are fantastic and the audio corresponds to the action very well. The game works and looks fine on the iPhone screen, but impresses even more on larger formats.

Godfire: Rise of Prometheus

The price tag for Godfire: Rise of Prometheus is currently $4.99, but it’s very much worth it. There are, of course, some in-game purchase options to more quickly upgrade your equipment (and some of the level ending bosses certainly tempt one to go for the upgrades) for $2.99 each. The back story has some detail without being overshadowing, and while the action is challenging, the controls are very responsive.

Godfire is a very good entry in the action/adventure game set for iDevices, and it can keep you busy for quite a while. Just be sure to watch your battery; it’s easy to drain a charge while playing this one.

Good game but cunning way to milk players. I’ve payed 7$ but basically game is freemium. If you wanna progress you gotta pay real$ or play on hard , when you finish it on normal, cause if you wanna play on normal again and gain some more coins or xp points, forget it. You gotta pay. Not nice way to treat players.
