Back in June, Technology Tell writer Charles Moore reviewed the Brydge+ speaker/keyboard system for iPad, saying, “… if the concept of an iOS laptop with a physical keyboard appeals, then the Brydge is the most elegant solution I have yet to encounter.” Trouble is, the Brydge+ is only compatible with with iPad 2/3/4.

Production-oriented iPad Air owners, however, will soon get their shot at pulling laptop functionality out of their tablet. Brydge has announced the BrydgeAir, and they’re calling it their “… most sophisticated keyboard yet.”

Forged out of a single piece of aluminum, yet 10% lighter than our previous Brydge, the BrydgeAir features significantly upgraded stereo speakers, backlit keys and slim lines that make it the perfect match for the iPad Air.

Productivity has never been as easy for iPad Air users. Finally there is a keyboard that lets you leave your laptop behind.

To celebrate the launch, Brydge is offering iPad Air users the chance to buy one of only a thousand exclusive keyboards that will be produced prior to the BrydgeAir arrival in stores. These individually numbered keyboards will be released four weeks early, and are on sale for $150, down from the the retail price of $199.

In addition, free shipping will also be available for a limited time. Simply enter the code FREESHIPPING when checking out to receive the discount.

The BrydgeAir will ship in October. Those looking to place an order should reminded that the BrydgeAir is specifically designed for the iPad Air, and will not work with the iPad 2, 3 or 4. Owners of those models should check out the Brydge+.
