Each day from now through the release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Technology Tell will be taking a look at the iPhone 6 case lineup from manufacturers whose products we have reviewed for previous iPhone models. Check back each day as we help you determine which cases you should preorder (or wait for) to protect your new mobile device.
Beyond Protection Now Available in Four Different Applications
Rokform is mostly known for their aluminum cases (not rock, although that would certainly be a unique approach), but half of their iPhone 6 lineup uses a tough polycarbonate shell to provide protection and functionality. We’ll get to them in a moment. First, the aluminum models.
The Fuzion offers six-sided protection via an impact resistant inner TPU shell and an outer aircraft-grade aluminum that’s CNC machined for the perfect fit, whether it’s for the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
Unlike many aluminum cases, the Fuzion requires no special tools to get the case on and off your iPhone 6. It’s available in black, gunmetal and silver, and will run you $79.00 when it ships for iPhone 6 in mid-September, $89.00 for iPhone 6 Plus. It doesn’t do much to retain the iPhone 6’s curved edges or thin appearance, but it the Fuzion will certainly keep it protected, and will look pretty sharp doing it.
Now, if you like that but also want a bit more functionality, the Fuzion+ RMS case is pretty much the same thing but with easy snap-in installation for use of the patented RMS technology and magnet mount. With the RMS, users have access to a large selection of mountable accessories for biking, motorcycle riding, golfing, and more. It’s available in the same colors as the Fuzion, and will cost you $99.00 and $109.00 for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models, respectively.
Getting away from aluminum, the Sport v3 and the Mountable Clear Case both offer complete protection through a shock absorbing inner liner and tough outer polycarbonate shell. Users then have the ability to snap-in an RMS and magnet mount piece or simply a magnet-mount with additional rubber grips. Both cases come with a Car Dash Mount, and cost only $39.00 for the iPhone 6 version.
The Sport v3 can be preordered in black, black/gunmetal, black/red, white/gunmetal and orange/gunmetal color combinations, while the Mountable Clear Case is only available in orange (pictured above) and salt/clear.
Seamlessly integrating with these cases is a complete line-up of accessories that includes everything from mounts to charging stands to bottle openers. If you’re serious about protection and functionality without ever having to remove your iPhone 6’s case, Rokform is worth a look.
