If there’s one thing we learned from our iPhone 6 case spotlights leading up to the iPhone 6 launch, it’s that our readers want to know about the cases available to them. As such, Technology Tell is continuing our look at the iPhone 6 case lineup from manufacturers whose products we have reviewed for previous iPhone models. Check back each day as we help you determine which cases you should buy (or wait for) to protect your new mobile device.
Griffin Updates Their Best-Selling Case Collections for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
Why did it take us so long to shine our iPhone 6 case spotlight on Griffin Technology? I have no idea. But they have center stage now, and it was worth the wait. We actually have a few of their iPhone 6 cases in hand at this point, at you’ll see full reviews soon. In the meantime, let’s take a look together, shall we?
If you’ve used a case from one Griffin’s popular lines in the past, you may already be represented here. As they say, there’s something for everyone—from customizable cases to protective and functional.
It starts with the Identity cases, which hit that sweet spot between rugged cases and slim shells. They feature a two-piece design: a hybrid bumper that combines shock-absorbing rubber with a hard plastic frame and low-profile back plate.
Identity cases for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available in a variety of colors in Performance, Graphite and All Clear models. Buy more than one (prices range from $29.99 to $39.99) and you can interchange the back plates and bumpers to create you own new look.
iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users can also use the Griffin Survivor cases, which are all designed to meet or exceed U.S. Department of Defense Standard 810G for shock/drop and vibration, and which come in a variety of colors.
- Survivor All-Terrain ($49.99) is built with a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in rugged, shock-absorbing silicone, and protects against 2 meter drops. A built-in screen protector seals the touchscreen from extreme conditions like dust, sand, rain, shock, vibration and a host of other environmental factors. Hinged plugs seal the dock connector and headphone port when they’re not in use.
- Survivor Slim ($39.99) is a sleek dual-layer case that provides drop protection from 2 meters in a slimmed-down form factor. Designed with an inner polycarbonate shell jacketed in premium silicone, Survivor Slim is great for anyone looking for drop protection in a slim, light profile.
- Survivor Core ($29.99) is the thinnest, lightest case that offers protection from a height of 2 meters. Survivor Core combines thin polycarbonate with extra resilient TPE rubber at the edges and corners for impact protection where it’s needed most while still showing off the sleek looks of iPhone 6.
If you prefer hard shell protection, Reveal for iPhone 6 features a sleek, one-piece design that lets the sleek new curves of the iPhone design show through, and adds only a little over a millimeter in thickness.
Reveal for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is available in black, hot pink or white for $19.99.
And finally, Wallet keeps your new iPhone safe and holds ID, credit cards and cash in slots inside the cover. The hinged cover folds back like a book during use, and the case grips the sides of the iPhone 6 to give edge-to-edge access to the touchscreen.
Wallet will be available in two weeks for $39.99.
Check back with us within the next couple of weeks for full reviews on many of the cases mentioned here. In the meantime, to see more iPhone 6 case options, check out the other entries in our iPhone 6 case spotlight series.
