If there’s one thing we learned from our iPhone 6 case spotlights leading up to the iPhone 6 launch, it’s that our readers want to know about the cases available to them. As such, Technology Tell is continuing our look at the iPhone 6 case lineup from manufacturers whose products we have reviewed for previous iPhone models. Check back each day as we help you determine which cases you should buy (or wait for) to protect your new mobile device.
Shield iPhone 6 in Protective Style with Element Case Soft-Tec Wallet and ION Case Lines
Element Case is mostly known for their high end aluminum bumper cases. We’ve reviewed a few of their models, with the Vapor Pro being our favorite. That model’s no longer available, having been replaced by the Ronin II and Sector 5. Both of those lines, along with the Solace, will be coming for the iPhone 6, and you can reserve yours now to get a unit before it’s released to the public.
In the meantime, we’ll take a look at Element Case’s new ION case for iPhone 6 and Soft-Tec Wallet case for the 6 and 6 Plus, both of which come with the familiar Element design but at much more affordable prices.
The ION Case features Element’s popular carbon fiber design via the backplate that’s attached to a durable, impact-resistant thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) body. The volume control and power switch are protected by integrated buttons, while the camera, ports and speakers are left open to provide compatibility with third-party accessories and cables. Lightning cables will surely work, but because the bottom is protected on both sides of the Lightning Port, it won’t be dockable.
The ION Case for iPhone 6 is available for $49.95 in black with carbon fiber backing, and while electric blue and fire red models are expected to ship in early October.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users will be able to get their hands on the Soft-Tec Wallet, a wrap-around case that includes credit card slots and lanyard attachments. The interior is lined with a plush synthetic suede interior to protect your screen when closed, completely encasing the device in Element Case’s proprietary Tech Grip material for premium protection.
The cover can also be folded back to serve as a multi-angle display stand, and provides wide access for all switches, buttons and ports at all times. Again, though, judging from the product photos, the bottom protection wraps over the phone just enough to limit compatibility with third-party docks.
The Soft-Tec Wallet is available now in black/red or iPhone 6 for $49.95, with the gold/white model coming mid to late October. The iPhone 6 Plus model are simply listed as coming soon.
In the coming weeks, Element Case will announce its Active Line for iPhone 6, which will include the Sector and Sector Pro, along with the Solace and Ronin case designs. For more information, visit www.elementcase.com.
