That may be an option, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal earlier this month.
Although the next iPhone (which we’ll call the iPhone 6s since that’s likely what it’ll be called) won’t surface before this fall, rumors are already hinting towards how Apple may change the device. The Wall Street Journal reported the iPhone 6s could be offered in a new color and will also be available with Force Touch.
Force Touch has been brought up in relation to the 6s before, and WSJ reports it will indeed be found on the phone. That feature will add pressure-based controls to the display as it will with the soon-to-be launched Apple Watch. Force Touch would expand the number of things iPhone 6s users can do with the phone’s display alone. In the most basic sense, Force Touch lets a device notice the difference between a tap and a hard press.
Currently, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are available in silver, space gray, and gold. Gold was added relatively recently and now Apple is said to be considering a fourth color option for the iPhone 6s. WSJ says the company has been looking at pink for the new color option. It’s not clear if a pink iPhone 6s would be similar in color to the pink iPhone 5c in shade, but it certainly won’t have the plastic finish.
