How do you know you’re a real geek? Well, if you are playing PlayStation games on your iPod Touch, I think you come real close. Now, I know that hacking your iPhone/iPod Touch can let you add some pretty useful applications, and functionality to your device, but this is too much. All of the playstation buttons are on the screen, half-covering the action, and you are supposed to touch the buttons in order to play the game. Am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous?

The interface/gui will be very similar to gpSPhone’s just with 4 hard buttons instead of just A+B, and L2 and R2 buttons. A rough estimate would be about 75% of games will be compatible. With such a large library of games, this may or may not include your favorite game. Performance will have to be increased about 25% to get a good portion of games running smoothly. This can be done.

It will be interesting to see what games work, and if they are even playable. I have to admit, I would love to play Crash Bandicoot on my iPod Touch. This probably could be done better with a third-part accessory that will hook up as a controller. I think we are going to see a Nintendo Wii emulator soon. Can’t you just see it? Wii Tennis on your iPhone?
