As well as being free, the 3.1 update includes some nice new features: UI update with new toolbar icons, Performance and memory enhancements including an improved Combined View which uses multiple pages to display long lists of items and HTML Archive feature – saves news items as HTML files on disk. I may just switch over from the web-based Google Reader that I’m using right now to this desktop-based, but far more feature-filled app for my Mac. Users of Address Book, iCal, iPhoto, Growl, and Twitterrific will also appreciate the integration this app has with them.
Newsgator is offering an automatic refund to anyone who purchased them in the past 30 days, but anyone before that just has to live with the fact that they paid $30 to use the software at the time. It is available as a completely free download at Newsgator’s website.
