Tuesday is going to be a big day for Apple: Not only will Steve be demonstrating some fantastic new products in the keynote; there will be a lot of new software-related releases in the Macworld Expo itself. I’m an EyeTV user – I use it with my Miglia TVMini and it works perfectly. Elgato’s EyeTV software is a truly remarkable piece of coding. The easy to use interface combined with high-tech compression techniques create an efficient application. Unfortunately, Elgato decided to no longer supply Miglia with their EyeTV software, luckily those who already have EyeTV software from Miglia are still supported by both companies.
TUAW has the latest scoop saying that you should expect a huge announcement from Elgato, announcing the release of EyeTV 3.0 – the long-awaited upgrade for many users. The upgrade will cost you, but users who bought an Elgato product on or after December 1, 2007 are covered for a free upgrade. It’s a shame all of us don’t receive a free upgrade – and if it costs $80 or more like most people are saying, then it may cost the same as buying a whole new TV tuner. Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to this upgrade on Tuesday.

Can't help but wonder how this'll work for me… I bought an EyeTV Hybrid a year ago, but I only got a working one back from the factory a couple days ago. :p
