The MacBook Air has been landing all over, and all the Mac Geeks have been unboxing them and trying them out. Engadget has given us a sneak peak at some of the features of Remote Disc, one of the MacBook Air’s features. Steve Jobs touted it at Macworld by saying that you could install software remotely. He failed to mention that that was pretty much all you could do. Taking about 86MB on the server Mac or PC, you can’t watch DVDs, listen to audio CDs, or even burn DVDs remotely. Fortunately however, you can boot from a remote CD or DVD by holding down the option key when starting up. This will allow you to choose a wifi network from the BIOS, and boot off that CD. Wireless performance has yet to be tested.

Toast provides a sharing function that lets you share your burner and burn a CD or DVD from a different computer. That might be one possible solution.
I have a Mac Book Air and with the remote disk you trully can access files, watch dvds plus install any software you want.
And now with the Toat Tip I might be able to burn cds/dvds
