Apple, Google services boost Gore’s income

Al Gore’s personal wealth just exceed an estimated US $100 million, and this may be due to Apple and Google’s stock options. Bloomberg reported that a significant portion of his wealth may from stock options that Apple and Google rewarded him for. When Al Gore left the White House he had less than about $2 million in assets.

“Gore got a lot of support from Silicon Valley when he ran for president because they knew the Internet was one of his primary concerns,” said Tony Coelho, a former congressman who was a as chairman of Gore’s 2000 election campaign.

Mr. Gore joined the Apple board of directors in 2003 and will hopefully continue to push Apple more green-friendly.
